Campaigns
A Campaign groups all the work for a marketing initiative — its briefing, and the publications produced for it. Campaigns live under Campaigns in the main navigation.
Creating a campaign
From the Campaigns overview, click Add campaign and provide:
- Name (must be unique within your team)
- Tags
- Status
- Start date and end date (the end date can't be before the start date)
- Variants, if your team uses Variants
Campaign status
A campaign has one of these statuses, shown as a badge on the campaign:
- New
- Briefing
- Production
- Ready
- Done
You set the status yourself when creating or editing a campaign — Relayter doesn't require you to move through these stages in a particular order or automatically change the status as work progresses.
The Briefing
Every campaign has a Briefing: a list of Campaign Items, each representing one row of content to produce. A Campaign Item can reference one or more Products and Assets, plus its own custom fields and tags.
Open the Briefing from the Briefing button on the campaign. Campaign Items you add here are what gets assigned to Publication Items for layout.
Publications and Packages
A campaign has two tabs:
- Publications — the Publications being produced for this campaign. Use Add → Add publication to create one.
- Packages — Packages, export bundles of finished output for this campaign. Use Add → Add packages to create one, based on a reusable Campaign package setup (configured under Export setups).
The campaign detail page also offers Refresh package data and Export package data actions for keeping packages up to date and exporting them.
Deleting a campaign
Deleting a campaign is destructive and cannot be undone. It permanently removes:
- All of the campaign's Publications and their Publication Items, including those items' files.
- The campaign's Briefing (all Campaign Items).
- The campaign's Packages.
Relayter asks you to confirm before deleting a campaign, but the confirmation message doesn't spell out everything that will be removed — so double-check you no longer need any of the campaign's publications or packages before confirming.
