Manage Content Groups
Content Groups are user containers that enable row-level access control. You assign users to a group, and then use Content Rules to grant that group access to specific content (campaigns, products, assets, etc.). This approach provides fine-grained access control independent of role-based permissions.
Create a content group
- Go to Settings → Administration → Content Permissions → Content groups.
- Click Add content group.
- Enter a Content group name.
- Select the users you want to add to this group by checking their names in the table below.
- Click Save to create the group.
Once created, you can use Content Rules to grant this group access to specific records.
Assign users to a group
You can add or remove users from a content group at any time:
- Go to Settings → Administration → Content Permissions → Content groups.
- Click the group name to view its details.
- The detail page shows all users currently in the group and allows you to modify membership.
- To update group membership, click Edit (or click the group name again if editing directly).
- Check or uncheck user names to add or remove them from the group.
- Click Save to apply the changes.
Assign a group to a user
When inviting or editing a user, you can assign them to one or more content groups:
- Go to Settings → Administration → Users.
- Click Invite user to add a new user, or find an existing user and click Edit.
- In the Groups section, select the content groups this user should belong to.
- Click Save to apply the changes.
Users assigned to a group can only see and work with content that their groups have been granted access to via Content Rules.
Edit a content group
- Go to Settings → Administration → Content Permissions → Content groups.
- Click the group name to view its details, then click Edit.
- Update the group name and user membership as needed.
- Click Save to apply the changes.
Delete a content group
- Go to Settings → Administration → Content Permissions → Content groups.
- Find the group in the list.
- Click the delete icon (trash can).
- Confirm the deletion.
When you delete a group, users who were in that group lose access to content previously granted via rules for that group. However, users retain access to any content they can access through other groups or role-based permissions.
