Manage Master Briefings

Master Briefings are reusable collections of briefing items that you can import into campaigns. By creating a master briefing once, you can quickly populate multiple campaigns with the same structure and content, then customize each campaign's data as needed.

Understand master briefings

Master briefings are stored as campaign items that don't belong to any campaign. They serve as templates—when you import them into a campaign, Relayter copies the items and allows you to control how data fields are handled during the import using different copy behaviors.

Create a master briefing

  1. Go to SettingsData ManagementMaster Briefings.
  2. Click the add button to create a new briefing item.
  3. Enter the item name and any required data.
  4. Repeat to add multiple briefing items to your master briefing.
  5. Save each item.

Master briefings are team-scoped—they're available only to users in your team.

Edit a master briefing

  1. Go to SettingsData ManagementMaster Briefings.
  2. Find the briefing item in the table.
  3. Click the item row or use the edit action to open it.
  4. Update the name, description, or data fields.
  5. Save the changes.

You can also use inline editing by clicking the unlock button in the table to edit fields directly.

Delete a master briefing

  1. Go to SettingsData ManagementMaster Briefings.
  2. Find the briefing item and select it.
  3. Click the delete button (trash icon) or delete action.
  4. Confirm the deletion.

Deleting a master briefing item does not affect campaigns that have already imported from it.

Import a master briefing into a campaign

When creating or editing a campaign briefing, you can import items from a master briefing:

  1. In the Campaign Settings or Briefing Setup, select Import from master briefing.
  2. Browse or search for the master briefing items you want to import.
  3. Select the items to import.
  4. Configure how data fields should be copied:
    • Skip – Do not copy this field; the campaign item will have no value for it.
    • Merge – Combine values from the master briefing item with any existing values in the campaign (for multi-select fields only).
    • Merge with value – Combine the master briefing values with the campaign values, then add an additional value you specify.
    • Overwrite with value – Replace the campaign item's value with a specific value you provide.
  5. Click Import.

The import runs as a background job. Once complete, the campaign briefing contains the imported items, which you can then customize.
